Mike Hargreaves is a singer-songwriter from Windsor, Ontario. Creating an original take on Kansas Funk, UK Pop/Soul, and nostalgic Canadian Folk, and self-producing his own material, Mike is pushing the limits of independent artistry.
Born and raised a riverbank away from the birthplace of Motown, prolific Canadian singer-songwriter Mike Hargreaves has a lifetime of immersion in classic soul, R&B and popular music. Formerly the songwriting machine and singer of indie/pop group Michou and the creative force behind soul/rock band The Walkervilles, Mike has worked with world-renowned producers in landmark studios across North America, and winning accolades and notoriety in the industry: his work charted in the Top 100 in Canadian Rock Radio, reached #1 on the MuchMore Music Countdown, and won his band Michou the title of XM Radio The Verge's Artist of the Year.
Mike's solo career officially began with the limited release of his debut self-produced album Off Mike in 2015, under the pseudonym Soul Brother Mike. Several releases later, in 2021 Mike self-produced a collection of psychological work songs, Headspace, followed soon after by his decision to shed the Soul Brother Mike name. Mike continues to serve as co-founder and arbiter of Soul City Music Co-op, a Windsor-based music label currently supporting 8 local artists, and is hard at work on a new EP, exploring a fusion of genres including folk, jazz, rock, and soul, to be released later in 2022.
